In our digitalized world, more and more tasks are being performed by computers. This also applies to the language sector. To make this possible, programming skills are needed. There is a high demand for these skills on the job market but also in research.In this course, we will explore this topic from a theoretical view and also apply it in hands-on-sessions. We will explore the current role of language applications and the current technologies used. In hands-on-sessions, we will also learn the basics of programming with Python. The focus will be on language applications and natural language processing. Over the course of the semester, all participants will develop a small programming project of their own.
The course requires no prior knowledge.
