Approximately 40 min away from Germersheim the city of Mannheim offers the widest range of accommodations. Mannheim with its streets and avenues laid out in a grid pattern, leading to its nickname "die Quadratestadt" ("city of the squares"), offers more than 40 hotels in every category and is on the high-speed railway line that directly connects you to Frankfurt airport. Germersheim is also connected via S-Bahn train transit (approx. 40 min – 1h).

Approximately 30 min away from Germersheim, and on the right bank of the Rhine lies Karlsruhe. The city lies near the French-German border, between Mannheim/Ludwigshafen in the north and Strasbourg/Kehl in the south. The city with its fan-shaped layout is called “Fächerstadt” (“folding fan city”) and is connected to Frankfurt airport via high-speed railway line and to Germersheim via S-Bahn train transit (30 to 50 min). Note that there are two types of trains going to Germersheim: the S-Bahn and the Stadtbahn (S51 and S52). While S-Bahn only serves Karlsruhe main station, the Stadtbahn serves tram stations in the city center and smaller train stations along the way to Germersheim.
