Recently, artificial intelligence has gained more and more interest in public debates. The exciting possibilities it offers are discussed as well as potential risks for democracy, society and our working lifes. One aspect which is however hardly included in this discussion is the possible psychological and cognitive impacts of AI. AI performs tasks for which intelligence is necessary. But what is intelligence? And does using AI influence the intelligence of the humans using these technologies? Will these humans become even more intelligent because they can outsource some processes? Or is the use of AI a threat to their brain because they don't train their cognitive capacities enough? These questions are important if we want to use AI efficiently without compromising our cognitive health. In this course we will therefore explore these aspects of AI and try to find answers.Dates
