"German Easy Language" is a complexity-reduced language variety of the standard German language that is intended to make texts easier to understand for people with low language/reading skills in terms of accessibility. Especially in the context of digitization, audiovisual implementation plays a major role for this target group.Following this link, https://www.easy-plain-accessible.com/ield-2021-conference-presentations/ you will find the presentations held at the International Easy Language Day (IELD) Conference hosted here at FTSK, in May 2021. Some presentations have been multimodally edited, i.e. subtitled in German and/or provided with a script to read along in Easy German plus voice-over. Unfortunately, this service is not yet available for all presentations. One goal of the course is to remedy this. Depending on the size of the group, the following components are planned:
- Translation of the original English texts into German Easy Language
- Subtitling of the presentations
- Voice-over and/or transcript creation

This course is a project course, i.e. in order to pass this course, in addition to active participation in the course and the timely completion and submission of the assignments set during the course, you must finally produce a short portfolio that reflects your work and reflects your personal 'development'.Dates
