"German Easy Language" is a complexity-reduced language variety of the standard German language that is intended to make texts easier to understand for people with low language/reading skills in terms of accessibility. Especially in the context of digitization, audiovisual implementation plays a major role for this target group.Following this link, https://www.easy-plain-accessible.com/ield-2021-conference-presentations/ you will find the presentations held at the International Easy Language Day (IELD) Conference hosted here at FTSK, in May 2021. Some presentations have been multimodally edited, i.e. subtitled in Easy Language and/or provided with a script to read along plus voice-over. Unfortunately, this service is not yet available for all presentations. One goal of the course is to remedy this. Depending on the size of the group, the following components are planned:
- Translation of the original English texts into German Easy Language
- Subtitling of the presentations
- Voice-over and/or transcript creation
Additional information
This is a project course, which means that to pass this exercise you must actively participate in the course, complete the assigned tasks, and finally compile and reflect on the output in a course portfolio.Dates
